Our Guardian Program

Help Us Build Our Program While Getting an Amazing Dog

Our Guardian Home Program allows us to expand our breeding program thoughtfully while ensuring every dog lives as a cherished family pet—not in a kennel or facility. Guardian families provide a permanent, loving home for one of our breeding dogs and receive significant benefits in return.

How it Works

The dog lives with you full-time as your beloved family pet. During breeding cycles, the dog temporarily stays with us (approximately 6-12 weeks for females per litter, 1-2 days for males per breeding). After completing 3-4 litters, we spay or neuter the dog and they remain permanently yours.

You get: A high-quality, health-tested Bernedoodle at reduced cost
We get: The ability to expand our program while ensuring dogs live in loving homes
The dog gets: A family to love instead of living in a kennel

Benefits

-Reduced purchase price for a breeding-quality dog

-We cover all breeding-related veterinary expenses

-Professional reproductive care through our veterinary partner

-The dog becomes permanently yours after breeding is complete

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can no longer be a guardian?

Life happens—we understand. Our contract addresses this. If you can no longer fulfill guardian responsibilities, the dog returns to us. We’ll work together to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Can I be involved during the breeding process?

Absolutely! We encourage guardian families to visit during pregnancy and after puppies are born. Many guardians love getting puppy snuggle time.

How much notice will I have before breeding?

For females, we monitor heat cycles and typically know 1-2 weeks in advance. We provide as much notice as possible and work with your schedule when feasible.

What if my dog doesn’t pass health testing?

If a dog doesn’t pass health clearances, they will not be bred. They’ll be spayed/neutered and remain yours permanently—you’ll have just received an amazing pet at reduced cost.

Do I get pick of the litter?

Guardian families may have the option to keep one puppy from a litter at a reduced rate, but this is negotiated on a case-by-case basis and isn’t guaranteed.

What happens in an emergency with my dog?

You handle routine emergencies just like any pet owner. For breeding-related emergencies during pregnancy or nursing, contact us immediately and we’ll coordinate care.

Can I show or compete with my guardian dog?

Yes! We encourage activities like obedience, agility, or therapy dog work. However, the dog must remain in good health and breeding condition.
